Tata Sierra EV – Variants, Features, Colours, Prices and Specs

The Tata Sierra EV launched on June 30, 2026, and within days it became one of the most searched electric cars in India. And honestly, that makes complete sense. Tata Sierra EV has five variants, two battery options, and one AWD choice and the combination of all three can feel overwhelming at first glance. Which variant should you buy? Which colours come with which trim? What exactly do you get when you move up from the base to the next step?

A Quick Overview Before We Dive In

The Tata Sierra EV is available in five main variants: Pure, Pure S, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered A.

Two battery packs are on offer a 63 kWh and a larger 75 kWh unit and the availability of each battery changes depending on the trim. The AWD system, which Tata calls QWD (Quad Wheel Drive), is exclusive to the top Empowered A variant.

Deliveries began July 15, 2026, and bookings are open now.

Variant 1 – Pure (Base) | Rs 18.79 Lakh | 63 kWh Only

The Pure is the entry point, and it is a genuinely substantive one. A substantive base variant means you are not getting a stripped-down shell dressed up as a car you are getting actual features from the very first trim.

Battery: 63 kWh only

Drivetrain: RWD

Claimed Range: 535 km (MIDC) / ~440–460 km (real-world C75)

Key Features:

  • Full-width connected LED DRL bar with bi-LED projector headlights

  • 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels

  • 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen (wired Android Auto / Apple CarPlay)

  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster

  • Automatic climate control with rear AC vents

  • 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold control

  • Electronic parking brake with auto-hold

  • TPMS, AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System)

  • Fabric upholstery in a black and light-brown dual-tone theme

  • Air purifier with PM 2.5 filter

  • 6-way manually adjustable driver seat

What It Misses: Panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors, wireless phone charging, fog lights, V2L / V2V, 360-degree camera, ADAS.

Colours Available: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure, Rishikesh Rapids (6 colours).

Verdict: A strong starting point if you want the Sierra EV experience at the lowest possible price. Does not feel like a punishment trim, but the Pure S is worth the extra Rs 1.2 lakh for most buyers.

Variant 2 – Pure S | Rs 19.99 Lakh | 63 kWh Only

The Pure S is just Rs 1.2 lakh more than the base Pure, and that gap buys you some genuinely useful upgrades that most buyers will appreciate every single day.

Battery: 63 kWh only

Drivetrain: RWD

Claimed Range: 535 km (MIDC) / ~440–460 km (real-world C75)

Key Features:

  • Voice-assisted panoramic sunroof

  • Electrically folding ORVMs with auto-fold

  • Vertically stacked LED fog lights with cornering function

  • Front parking sensors

  • Frunk (front storage under the bonnet)

  • V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) charging

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • Rear window sunshades

What It Misses: Leather-wrapped steering wheel, mood lighting, 360-degree camera, JBL audio system, ADAS, Boss Mode, ventilated seats.

Colours Available: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds (3 colours only — the most limited in the range).

Verdict: The extra money over the base Pure is well spent here. The panoramic sunroof, V2L/V2V capability, and wireless connectivity make the Pure S feel noticeably more premium for a small step up in price. Best choice for urban buyers who want core comfort features.

Variant 3 – Adventure | Rs 20.99 – Rs 22.19 Lakh | 63 kWh or 75 kWh

The Adventure is where things get considerably more interesting. This is the first trim to offer the larger 75 kWh battery pack and the first to bring proper premium entertainment and comfort features into the mix.

Battery: 63 kWh (Rs 20.99 lakh) or 75 kWh (Rs 22.19 lakh)

Drivetrain: RWD on both

Claimed Range: 535 km (63 kWh MIDC) / 665 km (75 kWh MIDC)

Added Over Pure S:

  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob

  • JBL Black 12-speaker audio system with SonicShaft soundbar and Dolby Atmos

  • Arcade.ev app suite with AirConsole gaming

  • DrivePay in-car UPI payment function

  • Built-in navigation

  • Mood lighting (ambient interior lighting)

  • Front seat back pockets

  • Boss Mode (reclines front seats for rear passenger comfort)

  • 60:40 split rear seats with rear armrest and cup holders

  • Camera-based park assist

What It Misses: Beige interior option, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, HUD, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree surround camera, 19-inch alloy wheels.

Colours Available: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure, Rishikesh Rapids (6 colours).

Verdict: The Adventure is the value sweet spot in the Sierra EV lineup. The Dolby Atmos JBL system, the Boss Mode, the larger battery option, and the split rear seat all make this a meaningfully better car than the Pure S in the ways that matter most on long drives. The Adventure 63 is a great pick for buyers who do not need the larger battery. The Adventure 75 is the one we’d recommend for those who want maximum range at a reasonable price.

Variant 4 – Empowered | Rs 22.79 – Rs 23.79 Lakh | 63 kWh or 75 kWh

The Empowered is the first trim to introduce the premium dual-tone beige interior and begins to bring the Sierra EV’s most advanced technology into the cabin.

Battery: 63 kWh (Rs 22.79 lakh) or 75 kWh (Rs 23.79 lakh)

Drivetrain: RWD on both

Claimed Range: 535 km (63 kWh MIDC) / 665 km (75 kWh MIDC)

Added Over Adventure:

  • Premium beige interior with grey upholstery and leatherette seats

  • Ventilated front seats with heating function

  • Powered driver seat with memory function

  • Powered co-driver seat

  • 360-degree surround-view camera (without Transparent Mode)

  • Mood lighting (ambient interior lighting)

  • Wireless phone charging pad

  • Tata’s iRA.ev connected car technology with 5G

  • HYPAR Heads-Up Display (HUD)

  • Level 2+ ADAS suite (22 functions)

What It Misses: AWD / QWD, Empowered A’s advanced parking functions, 19-inch alloy wheels, Transparent Mode on camera, Boost Mode

Colours Available: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure, Rishikesh Rapids (6 colours).

Verdict: The Empowered is the recommended pick for the largest number of Sierra EV buyers it brings ventilated seats, a HUD, Level 2 ADAS, and the 360-degree camera together in one package. The Empowered 75 is significantly better value than the Empowered 63, since the larger battery is available for a small premium and future proofs the car in an important way.

Variant 5 – Empowered A | Rs 24.79 – Rs 25.99 Lakh | 75 kWh Only

The Empowered A is the flagship. It is the only Sierra EV variant you can buy with the QWD (AWD) dual-motor system, and it adds every piece of technology Tata has put into this car.

Battery: 75 kWh only

Drivetrain: RWD (Rs 24.79 lakh) or QWD/AWD (Rs 25.99 lakh)

Claimed Range: 665 km (RWD MIDC) / 624 km (QWD MIDC)

Added Over Empowered:

  • 19-inch larger alloy wheels (upgrade from 18-inch)

  • 540-degree surround-view camera with Transparent Mode

  • e-Valet advanced parking system (automatic parking, remote park, summon, reverse assist)

  • Level 2+ ADAS with full 22-function suite (as on Empowered, confirmed)

QWD-Exclusive Additions (Rs 25.99 lakh):

  • 504 Nm combined torque

  • 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds (Boost Mode activated)

  • Six terrain modes with Off-Road Assist

  • 205 mm ground clearance

  • Nainital Nocturne colour option (exclusive to QWD)

Colours Available (RWD): Colours Available (RWD): Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure, Rishikesh Rapids

Colours Available (QWD): All six above + Nainital Nocturne (exclusive)

Verdict: The Empowered A QWD at Rs 25.99 lakh is the most exciting Sierra EV you can buy. 5.8 seconds to 100 km/h, proper AWD for off-road terrain, and exclusive colour — if you want everything this car has to offer, this is the one. The RWD Empowered A is good too, but the Rs 1.2 lakh gap to the QWD version is small enough that most buyers at this trim level should simply go all the way.
