Maruti launched the 2026 Brezza facelift on July 24, 2026, and while the refreshed styling and new features are welcome, the real highlight is the new 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. Fuel efficiency is rated at 20.47 kmpl for the LXi and VXi turbo variants, and 19.96 kmpl for the ZXi and ZXi+ turbo under ARAI testing.

Engine 2 — 1.5L Naturally Aspirated Petrol (Carried Over, Upgraded Gearbox)

The 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine, putting out 102 bhp and 137 Nm of torque, has been carried forward. This unit continues to offer a choice between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The big upgrade here is the new 6-speed manual gearbox replacing the old 5-speed unit. The automatic continues with the same 6-speed torque converter. The standard LXi and VXi Manual version return 21.09 kmpl, the ZXi MT delivers 20.81 kmpl, and the 1.5L AT version delivers a certified fuel economy of 20.17 kmpl.

Engine 3 — 1.5L CNG (Underbody Tank — A Big Improvement)

The factory fitted CNG option remains on sale, though it now adopts an underbody tank layout to free up boot space.

This is one of the most practically significant updates of the entire facelift. The old Brezza CNG had the tank mounted in the boot, which dramatically reduced luggage space. The new underbody tank removes that problem entirely, giving CNG buyers the same boot space as the petrol version.
