2026 Maruti Brezza Facelift Launched in India Price & Features.

Maruti launched the 2026 Brezza facelift on July 24, 2026, and while the refreshed styling and new features are welcome, the real highlight is the new 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. It produces 110hp and 170Nm, is available across all four variants, and starts at an attractive Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Thanks to the GST 2.0 reforms, the 1.0 litre engine attracts just 18% GST, compared to 40% for the 1.5 litre engine. As a result, the new turbo petrol Brezza is now the most affordable entry point into the lineup.

What’s New? A Quick Overview

The 2026 Brezza facelift is an update rather than a full redesign. Maruti has kept what worked the upright, boxy body, the reliable engines, the wide service network and added what was missing: a turbo engine, new safety features, a larger infotainment screen, and two fresh colour options. While on the surface changes may seem limited, it is under the skin where the SUV now features a more powerful turbo petrol engine and a host of new equipment.

Here is a quick summary of everything that is new:

  • ✅ Brand-new 1.0L turbo-petrol engine (110hp / 170 Nm)

  • ✅ New 6-speed manual gearbox for the 1.5L petrol (replacing the old 5-speed)

  • ✅ Underbody CNG tank (frees up boot space — a long-standing owner request)

  • ✅ Larger 10.1-inch touchscreen (up from 9 inches)

  • ✅ Ventilated front seats (new addition)

  • ✅ 64-colour ambient lighting (new addition)

  • ✅ PM 2.5 air purifier (new addition)

  • ✅ 360-degree camera (new addition on top trims)

  • ✅ Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert (new)

  • ✅ 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating

  • ✅ Two new exterior colours — Vivacious Orange and Lustrous Beige

Engines Three Powertrains

The 2026 Brezza now offers more powertrain choices than any previous version. Here is a breakdown of all three:

Engine 1 – New 1.0L Turbo Petrol (The Headline Engine)

The turbo-petrol engine is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and offers 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque. This is the engine the Brezza community has been asking for since 2022. 110hp and 170 Nm more power and more torque than the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that was previously the only petrol option, and at a lower price thanks to GST benefits on sub 1,200cc engines in sub-4-metre cars.

The 1.0-litre engine attracts just 18 percent GST, while the 1.5-litre lineup remains taxed at 40 percent. This is why the turbo variants are between Rs 65,000 and Rs 90,000 more affordable in comparable variants versus the 1.5-litre petrol despite being more powerful in both output figures. Fuel efficiency is rated at 20.47 kmpl for the LXi and VXi turbo variants, and 19.96 kmpl for the ZXi and ZXi+ turbo under ARAI testing.

Engine 2 — 1.5L Naturally Aspirated Petrol (Carried Over, Upgraded Gearbox)

The 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine, putting out 102 bhp and 137 Nm of torque, has been carried forward. This unit continues to offer a choice between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The big upgrade here is the new 6-speed manual gearbox replacing the old 5-speed unit. The automatic continues with the same 6-speed torque converter. The standard LXi and VXi Manual version return 21.09 kmpl, the ZXi MT delivers 20.81 kmpl, and the 1.5L AT version delivers a certified fuel economy of 20.17 kmpl.

Engine 3 — 1.5L CNG (Underbody Tank — A Big Improvement)

The factory fitted CNG option remains on sale, though it now adopts an underbody tank layout to free up boot space.

This is one of the most practically significant updates of the entire facelift. The old Brezza CNG had the tank mounted in the boot, which dramatically reduced luggage space. The new underbody tank removes that problem entirely, giving CNG buyers the same boot space as the petrol version. The CNG version delivers 26.90 km/kg exceptional running cost efficiency for city and highway use.

Variants — Four Trims, 13 Options in Total

The 2026 Maruti Brezza is available in 4 variants LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI Plus and a total of 13 variants across all powertrain and gearbox combinations.

#1 LXI
Rs 7.40 lakh
Entry Level

The LXI is the most affordable Brezza ever made, starting at Rs 7.40 lakh for the turbo-petrol. The entry level LXI provides essential safety and convenience equipment including six airbags as standard, ESC, ABS with EBD, all four power windows, manual AC, rear parking sensors, and keyless entry.

Six airbags on the base variant is a meaningful improvement over many rivals at this price point. The Brezza LXI is also the only compact SUV starting below Rs 8 lakh with a factory fitted turbo engine.

Best For: First time SUV buyers who want the Brezza nameplate and the turbo engine at the most accessible price.
#2 VXI
Rs 9.99 lakh
The Sweet Spot

The VXI adds automatic climate control, a rear parking camera, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a cooled glovebox, and a USB-C port. The VXI Turbo at Rs 8.55 lakh is likely to be the highest selling variant it covers all the everyday bases without asking you to pay for features you may not use.

The VXi CNG is the standout CNG price point at Rs 9.99 lakh, especially since the updated model also gains a more practical cylinder layout and a new 6-speed manual transmission.

Best For: Most everyday family buyers who want comfort, connectivity, and climate control at a sensible price.
#3 ZXI
Rs 9.85 lakh
The Feature Step Up

The ZXI adds leatherette seat upholstery, ventilated front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, a sunroof, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, safe exit warning, front parking sensors, a wireless phone charger, and cruise control. The ZXI Turbo at Rs 9.85 lakh is the best value in the entire range for buyers who want the full comfort package.

Best For: Buyers who want the complete comfort and safety feature set without going to the top trim.
#4 ZXI+
Rs 11.16 lakh
Fully Loaded Version

The ZXI+ is the most complete Brezza you can buy. It adds a 360-degree camera, premium leatherette, a PM 2.5 air purifier, and all the safety features from the ZXI. Available only with the 1.0L turbo manual or the 1.5L automatic no ZXI+ is offered with the 1.5L manual.

Safety 5-Star Bharat NCAP and Six Standard Airbags

The 2026 Maruti Brezza has scored 5 stars in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. Six airbags come fitted as standard, even on the entry level variant. The top spec trim adds further safety equipment such as blind spot monitoring and front parking sensors. However, ADAS continues to be absent from the feature list.

The absence of ADAS is the one notable gap in the 2026 Brezza’s safety package rivals like the Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet now offer Level 2 ADAS on top trims. Maruti has chosen not to add it here, which keeps costs down but leaves a gap against the most technology equipped rivals. For most everyday buyers though, the 5 star Bharat NCAP rating, six airbags, blind spot monitoring, and 360 degree camera cover the bases very effectively.
